We scheduled our conference on a Monday, but it’s Columbus Day–in the hopes that maybe some Dads might be able to help out with the babysitting duties. Here’s a great example…

Proof that Dads are perfectly capable

Thursday, September 20th, 2007I saw a friend for lunch today and was bemoaning that I feel “unappreciated” at my day job. We’ve all had those days no doubt! So how great is it when I come home (after 2 hours of traffic), kind of tired, to have my almost four year old tell me that she found a doll that looked like me in her American Girl catalog. I assumed it was a doll that one of my twins had already marked up and colored all over, perhaps with her hair falling out…
…but no. It was a beautiful posh princess looking doll.
THAT’S what I needed.
T Minus Three…
Wednesday, September 19th, 2007We’re just about 3 weeks away from our big conference and I am hugely excited for one main reason: our speakers and our sessions are SO great. One of the reasons I (well, we) started this event is because I (we) were looking for options, ourselves. And I am so excited to hear everyone’s presentations-each speaker is better than the last and putting the event together has been rewarding on the very premise that it is encouraging to me to hear how other people are MAKING IT WORK.
It’s great to also hear so much positive feedback from almost everyone we talk to, also.
That said: we’ve got a great group coming and I think everyone will be very excited and pleased at the end of the day. But some people who earlier expressed interest have not signed up…I’m throwing it out there to everyone. We’re trying to plan for some spring events. What would make this event better for you? More enticing? Timing wise, location wise…give me your thoughts as a response or via email…We want to keep working on these events!
I said to Kirsten, if we end up NOT doing any more…I’m not sure of my next step, career-wise. I’d need a conference just like this one to help me know my options!
But give us your thoughts and definitely, if you’re not on our mailing list, get on it! So that we can keep you posted on new and improved events.
And I hope to see you in three weeks. If you don’t leave, after hearing Anne Weisberg, Carol Cohen, and all our great speakers, HUGELY inspired–I’d be shocked!
